Class 1 Personal Certificates

STEP ONE: Load the South African CA Certificate
STEP TWO: Apply for a Free Class 1 Personal Certificate

A Class 1 Personal Certificate is an "id" that assures third parties of your identity using your e-mail address to authenticate you.
You cannot obtain a Personal Certificate without having a valid Internet e-mail account.
Personal Certificates are used by secure servers to verify the identity of the client accessing the server.
Secure servers will not allow you access without a valid Personal Certificate.
You must be using a Secure Browser that is capable of client authentication, such as Netscape Navigator 3.x or later, or Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.x or later.
